A Mortadella Italiana board with delicious specialties!
An Italian tradition provides serving deli meats on a board, at first glance it may seem like a small savoury dish but beyond it there is a wide range of choices to make. Composing a deli meats board is an art form and a trial: here you have some tricks for the perfect platter with Italian Mortadella, the authentic one from Bologna!
Ingredients (for 2 people):
- 3 slices of black bread
- Fresh creamy Cheese
- 8 slices of Mortadella Italiana
- Some salted pistachioes
- One purple cauliflower
- 4 quail eggs
Time of preparation: 15 minutes
First, choose the ideal board for your preparation: in this case a traditional wooden board made with olive wood would be fine.
Now, let’s start the making of: boil some water in a pot and cook inside the quail eggs for 5 minutes. Once they’re ready, leave them other 2 minutes to refresh under the water and continue with the preparation. Shell the pistachioes and cut the purple cauliflower in small pieces (you could also cook it if you don’t like it raw!)
Cut also the fresh cheese in pieces and put them on the board; this kind of cheese is the perfect fellow for a gourmet board like this one. Bring the black bread slices, cut the eggs in half, take all the other ingredients and put them together on the board. Take the Italian Mortadella slices too, to complete the preparation.
It is preferable to enjoy this dish as an appetizer, before dinner, better paired with a glass of sparkling white wine like Prosecco or Malvasia. Enjoy!
